I LOVE their interactions and their real-world adventures because I feel like a little kid being able to explore Japan with Marie in a very real way. I felt once our "couple" returned back to the fantasy world it was slightly…anti-climactic? I don’t feel that’s the right word and feel really bad saying that because I don't think it probably is, but I realized that definitely the highlight of this manga for me is having Marie in Japan. ![]() ![]() ![]() It just made my heart feel all warm and fuzzy because I related to her reasoning of why she wanted to learn Japanese as that is me too. The premise is definitely one of my favorites and thought this volume started out really strong! We meet a new race of "creatures" in the fantasy world and I must say, MEWI IS ADORABLE!! So cute and fluffy! I did NOT like how that opening chapter ended though! Why do humans mess things up in fiction? LOL! I also LOVED how Marie was learning Japanese for the opening “real world” chapter! I loved *how* she was learning it and her reasonings of why she was learning it as well. And so we continue with one of the most intriguing premises I have read in fiction! An elf coming to Japan via a "dream"! ![]()
